Are chinchillas from pet stores in new jersey reliable and healthy?

I’m interested in purchasing a chinchilla. ive heard the whole shpeal about how chinchillas in pet stores are from chinchilla mills and anyone who is interested in one should purchase it from a breeder. Although, the breeder will not have the chinchilla i desire ready for me for another two months. There for i am considoring just buying one from pets mart in holmdel. it’s a good area and the majority of prior pets i have purchased from them have been sufficiant and healthy, what should i do?
